As the sting of the hot summer sun recedes, we look back on a wonderful season filled with unique dining experiences. We had the pleasure of meeting over a hundred lovely new guests from a diverse range of countries including: America, Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and Singapore. Meeting so many enthusiastic food lovers and sharing delicious food, good conversation and insights is always very rewarding. This month we take pleasure in introducing The Velvet Glove, a swanky Art Deco inspired bar and Avia, a neighbourhood restaurant in Taylor Square, Darlinghurst.
Continuing the dynamic theme from last month’s missive – we have lots of news to share from our dining tour precincts. Firstly, we're thrilled to announce the opening of The Hook, a unique Kings Cross venue with an old New York vibe of oysters, classic cocktails and a nightly crooner at the baby grand piano. In other news, we're delighted to introduce The Waratah, an innovative new venue on our Darlinghurst tour. With its captivating ambiance and beautifully designed up and downstairs spaces this bar and restaurant is a great addition to the Victoria street dining scene. Lastly, we bid a temporary farewell to Big Poppa's as the crew take a break. While their closure is temporary due to stalled development in the precinct we will still miss the Lamb Ragu and late license venue on Darlinghurst’s Oxford Street.
The Sydney restaurant scene is never stagnant and our local hood of Potts Point is a great example of the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. In the past month alone, we have bid farewell to the beloved Et Al and clocked the rebranding of House Bistrot. But amidst these changes, exciting new additions are also on the horizon.
