Celebrating Ten Years

Celebrating Ten Years

As part of our Tenth Anniversary online celebrations we raided the archives to create a gallery of our past events as a tribute to everyone who contributed their love and energy to the success of our curated dining events. Thanks to everyone in the online and IRL community for your thoughtful messages, comments and posts on our recent tenth anniversary. It’s heartening to know that we have enriched so many people’s dining experiences of inner city Sydney.

 Christmas Gin by Four Pillars

Christmas Gin by Four Pillars

Last week we tried the amazing new Christmas Gin from Four Pillars Gin whilst on our Surry Hills dining tour with a lovely American couple. There is a sweet story behind the making of this spirit each Christmas. This gin is Cam’s tribute to four things he loves: Australia, Christmas, gin and his late mum, Wilma.

New Player | Bar Sopra

New Player | Bar Sopra

We have always been mad-keen fans of Bar Sopra, since the venue first opened in the heart of Potts Point in October 2020. Pumping on summer nights when al fresco dining is encouraged. There’s a Spanish theme running through the menu of seafood, meat and vegetarian tapas, cheese and charcuterie boards.

The Sydney Connection 8th Anniversary

The Sydney Connection 8th Anniversary

The Sydney Connection turned 8 last week. Woo hoo!
And to celebrate we bought a piece of art for the home office My Poster Sucks which is coming all the way from Turin Italy! We first discovered their work Rootstock Sydney and bought a Sophia Loren piece featuring champagne. So now Obama joins the family.

New Player | SOUL Dining

New Player | SOUL Dining

Across town we are very pleased to announce that one of our fave modern Korean restaurants, SOUL Dining, has joined our Surry Hills line-up. Prepare to sink into a blue velvet seat, in an industrial chic space with low light and great service. SOUl Dining has been described as too Korean to be called modern Australian, but not traditional enough to be called classic Korean.

Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes

Last week we shot the first part of our new promo video with the fabulous guys from JJ Splice Digital at Surry Hills and Darlinghurst venues: Brix Distillers, Loluk Bistro and Tilly May’s. Two of our cast members are also fantastic photographers so we were very lucky to get some great behind the scene shots whilst on the shoot. We are shooting the second part this week so should have a finished product to show off very soon.

Serendipity

Serendipity

Serendipity happened accidentally in a little kitchen in Paddington, in 1966. Alix Mandelson was not satisfied that the most exotic ice cream available was Neapolitan. Being allergic to chocolate it left the pink stripe and the white stripe – neither of which contained the real ingredients she was craving. So she set to work creating her own ice cream from fresh cream and eggs and other fresh ingredients that we all love in our ice cream.

New Player | Bon Vin

New Player | Bon Vin

Meet the newest addition to our Darlinghurst Dining Walk.
We first discovered Bon Vin in a hidden laneway of East Sydney totally by accident, whilst out on the town in Darlo with friends one winters night. On a brisk Sydney evening the idea of descending into a subterranean cellar was very appealing, when the lovely waiter standing outside, invited us inside.
