This month, we’re excited to unveil a new chapter: The Sydney Connection now exclusively offers Private Tours, immersing guests in Sydney's vibrant dining scene with tailored experiences for you and your loved ones. By focusing solely on private tours, we can now offer added perks like a city hotel transfer to the first venue, where your guide will meet you in the foyer for a warm introduction to Sydney en route to your first cocktail of the evening. Guests will enjoy our signature format: a four-course set menu with matching wines and engaging stories and anecdotes from your local guide about Sydney’s history, people, and restaurants.
When we are on a dining tour we often recommend books about the Sydney food scene that provide more in-depth information about the vibrant and ever-evolving culinary talents of our city. By delving into these books, our guests gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse range of cuisines, talented chefs and the hidden gems that make Sydney a food lover's paradise.
One of the key recommendations we make to our guests during our dining tours is to immerse themselves in a book on Sydney post-tour. As we journey between venues, we provide snippets of history about each precinct, enriching the experience with tales of the characters and venues that have shaped the city. Understanding these anecdotes not only adds depth to the journey but also enhances the overall entertainment of our guests during and after the tour. A good book on Sydney can offer a treasure trove of insights and stories that bring the city's past to life, making the present-day experience all the more meaningful.
As part of our Tenth Anniversary online celebrations we raided the archives to create a gallery of our past events as a tribute to everyone who contributed their love and energy to the success of our curated dining events. Thanks to everyone in the online and IRL community for your thoughtful messages, comments and posts on our recent tenth anniversary. It’s heartening to know that we have enriched so many people’s dining experiences of inner city Sydney.
We are thrilled to share with you the first batch of images from our shoot with Tourism Australia. It was an intense but ultimately fun afternoon of shooting stills and video around Potts Point in late April. We enjoyed a charcuterie and Australian cheese plate at the elegant Spanish inspired Sopra. With cocktails, originally created by Nayuta Bar in Osaka, made with great attention by Kennedy CK. We then moved onto mains at the charming "house of mezze" Ezra, located in a grand terrace on Kellett Street.
We have just completed our first Australian Travel Exchange trade show at the International Convention Centre (ICC) at Darling Harbour. Consisting of a hybrid event of live and online appointments between Buyers and Sellers of the Australian travel industry over a ten day period. Offerings included: accommodation, tours, online travel websites and other services and products suitable for the domestic and overseas markets.
We had the pleasure of trying the newish Ateş Restaurant Blackheath on last week's trip to the Blue Mountains.
